The ring shows an ornament, braided from fish and bunches of grapes. These are the oldest symbols of Jesus Christ. The word "fish" (Greek ICHTHYS) is backronym, that is, having a symbolic transcript. Its initial letters hide the phrase "Jesous Christos Theou Yios Soter - Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior." The vine symbolizes Jesus Christ through His own words: “I am the true vine, and My Father is the husbandman” (John 15: 1). Therefore, in the early Christian frescoes, fish and grapes, put together, symbolized Communion.
There is another connection between the symbols of fish and grapes. According to legend, during the World Flood, the curse of God did not spread to fish, and it swam freely in the waters along with Noah's Ark. And Noah, barely setting foot on the land, planted a vine before all other plants."Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me" - written inside the ring.
