St George is venerated in many countries. He serves as an example of firm faith and spiritual strength: during his time on earth, he was tortured and executed because of his faith in God. Images of Saint George the Martyr can be found even in the smallest Orthodox churches. Soldiers turn to him before going to hot spots and battles. Mothers of military men find consolation and comfort in their prayers to this saint. Also, he is a patron saint of people who have dangerous jobs, extreme athletes, and sportsmen.

However, even an ordinary person can ask the saint for help. St George will hear every plead and every request if they come from an open heart. You can seek his protection from enemies and evil tongues, ask for outstanding achievements in sports or at work, or request to win the fight against your weaknesses and vices. Having the handmade icon of Saint George the Martyr as a part of your home decor, you strengthen your faith and protect your family from all sorts of dangers.
