Silver care: how to clean a silver cross
925 sterling silver darkens over time, and that is normal. A few simple rules help keep the item looking good for longer, and the table below helps you choose a ring size.
-
Darkening is normal
925 sterling silver darkens over time. It is a property of the metal, not a defect.
-
Take it off before water
Take off rings and chains before a shower, the pool and cleaning with household chemicals.
-
Store separately
In a dry place, apart from other jewellery.
-
Clean with a soft cloth
With a soft cloth or a special silver cleaning cloth. No toothpaste or abrasives.
-
Do not polish the blackening
On blackened items it is part of the design, not dirt.
-
Stones and enamel
Do not heat such items or put them in an ultrasonic bath.
SIZE TABLE
How to choose a ring size
Measure the inner diameter of a ring that fits you and check it against the table. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.
The inner diameter in millimetres is the ring size. For example, 18 mm = size 18.
