The Kazan Icon of the Mother of God has a rich history, marked by miracles and divine interventions.
The icon first appeared in the city of Kazan in 1579, after a young girl named Matrona had a vision of the Virgin Mary, who revealed the location of the icon buried in the ground. The icon was then found and brought to the local church.
