Targeted help for those who are struggling most. Tallinn, since 2000.

NIKA began in 2000 as a small initiative in Tallinn and since 2010 has worked as a registered association. The association began its work with the blessing of His Eminence Cornelius, Metropolitan of Tallinn and All Estonia. Today all the work of the centre is legally registered with the association: the shop, trips and prayer notes. The association helps those in need from its own funds.

THE PEOPLE WE HELP

Whom we help

First of all those who find themselves in an extremely difficult financial and life situation.

Among the people we help is, for example, a family in which a seriously ill woman cares for her paralysed husband. Their pensions are small, and state aid is minimal and rather symbolic.

We pay special attention to elderly, ill and less mobile people who find it hard to go shopping on their own and carry heavy groceries home.

WORK

What we do

Throughout all the years of work, all help has been provided from the association's own funds.

Food parcels

We buy food parcels and bring them to those in need.

Essential goods

We bring things needed in everyday life.

Home delivery

For those who find it hard to go shopping on their own and carry heavy groceries home.

Pilgrimages

Together with the Andcross centre we take people for whom the journey is hard to the shrines.

Our goal is simple: to give real, targeted help to those who need it most and to make their everyday life at least a little easier.

ONE ORGANISATION

How it is connected with the site

The shop, trips and prayer notes on this site are run by the NIKA association. Every order and every trip is the work of the same organisation that brings food to elderly and ill people in Tallinn.
