About the place
Bodbe monastery is in Kakheti, two kilometres from the town of Sighnaghi. St Nino, Equal-to-the-Apostles and the enlightener of Georgia, ended her earthly life here, and her relics rest here. According to tradition, the first church over her grave was built by King Mirian.
Today Bodbe is a working convent. Further down the slope is the spring of St Nino, where pilgrims go down to pray.
Bodbe is part of our pilgrimages to Georgia, together with Mtskheta and Samtavro monastery.
