ST CATHERINE'S CHURCH, PÄRNU

About the place

The Church of the Holy Great Martyr Catherine stands in the centre of Pärnu, on the west coast of Estonia. It was built in the 1760s by order of Empress Catherine II and is one of the finest baroque churches in Estonia.

The carved white and gold iconostasis of the church is especially beautiful.

Our pilgrims come to Pärnu for the festal liturgy on the Transfiguration of the Lord, when fruit is blessed after the service. We were here in August 2020 and in August 2026.
