ST CATHERINE'S MONASTERY AND MOUNT SINAI
About the place
The Holy Monastery of St Catherine stands at the foot of Mount Sinai in Egypt. It was founded in the 6th century and is one of the oldest active Christian monasteries in the world.
The monastery keeps the relics of the holy Great Martyr Catherine, and the Burning Bush grows here. Pilgrims climb Mount Sinai, Mount Moses, at night to meet the dawn at its top.
Our groups came to Sinai together with the Holy Land in 2007 and 2008.
