Description
The Virgin Mary is shown untying the knots of a ribbon handed to her by angels; the knots stand for the troubles and sins of human life. The image goes back to a late 17th-century painting by Johann Georg Melchior Schmidtner in the church of St Peter am Perlach in Augsburg.
At 13 x 18 cm the icon suits a shelf or a prayer corner. It is a thoughtful gift for someone going through a difficult time at home or at work.
Handmade, with a silver-plated cover. Wipe it with a dry soft cloth, without water or cleaning products.
