Orthodox Gift Set: Vladimir Mother of God Icon, Silver-Plated, 13 x 18 cm, and 12 Wax Candles

By tradition the Vladimir icon of the Mother of God goes back to an image painted by the Evangelist Luke; it was brought from Constantinople in the 12th century. The Virgin tenderly holds the Christ Child, and the faithful pray before this image for protection and comfort in sorrow.

The set contains the 13 x 18 cm icon and a box of 12 wax candles for prayer at home. Each candle is 195 mm long and 8 mm thick and carries the words "Save and protect".

The icon base is brown MDF, silver-plated by physical vapour deposition (PVD). The set is a good gift for a housewarming, a baptism or a name day, and a simple way to start a prayer corner at home.
