Description
The Seven Arrows icon, also called Seven Swords, shows the heart of the Mother of God pierced by seven blades. It recalls the prophecy of the righteous Simeon, "a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also", and the sorrows of the Virgin. Christians pray before it for peace at home and the softening of hardened hearts.
The icon measures 21 x 28 cm and is 13 mm thick, a large image for a wall or the centre of a home icon corner. It is framed under glass and comes in a gift box.
The base is brown MDF with 999 silver applied by physical vapour deposition (PVD); the image follows a Byzantine original. Handmade. Wipe the cover with a dry soft cloth.
