Description
St George the Victorious is shown on horseback slaying the dragon, following the Byzantine model. He is venerated as the patron of soldiers and a protector against evil, and his icon is a traditional gift for men and for those named George.
The icon follows the Byzantine image in its typical colours, with a silver- and gold-plated cover. It measures 21 x 28 cm and is 13 mm thick, framed under glass and packed in a gift box. Handmade.
The base is brown MDF, with 999 silver applied by physical vapour deposition (PVD). Wipe the glass with a dry soft cloth.
