Description
The Last Supper took place on the eve of the Passion: Christ washed the feet of his disciples and gave them his Body and Blood, instituting the Eucharist. In Orthodox tradition it is called the Mystical Supper because the sacrament was revealed at it.
A narrow icon measuring 17 x 7.3 cm. By custom an icon of the Last Supper hangs in the dining room or kitchen, above the family table, and it is a fitting housewarming gift.
The coloured image follows a Byzantine icon in its traditional palette. The base is brown MDF with 999 silver applied by physical vapour deposition (PVD). Handmade.
