Description
Tradition holds that the Apostle Luke painted the Vladimir icon; it was brought from Constantinople in the 12th century and has been one of the most loved icons of the Mother of God ever since. The Christ Child presses His cheek to His Mother's face, the type known as Tenderness.
The icon is 21 x 28 cm and 13 mm thick, a large image for an icon corner or a living-room wall and a fine gift for a wedding or a housewarming. It is packed in a gift box.
The base is brown MDF, coated with 999 silver by physical vapour deposition (PVD), with colours following the Byzantine original. Handmade.
