Description
On the Vladimir icon the Mother of God tenderly holds the Christ Child, who presses close to her cheek. Tradition says the original was painted by the Evangelist Luke; it was brought from Constantinople in the 12th century and became one of the most venerated icons.
The icon is 8 x 11 cm and is packed in a handmade gift box, ready for a baptism, a wedding or an anniversary. At home it belongs in the icon corner or on a shelf.
The base is brown MDF with 999 silver applied by physical vapour deposition (PVD); the image keeps the traditional colours of icon painting. Handmade.
