First Independent Steps After Nineteen Years

My son has suffered from a severe form of cerebral palsy since birth.

For nineteen years, he could not even drink water without assistance.

When our family received a holy item—oil blessed at the resting place of Saint Gabriel Urgebadze—we began turning to the Lord in prayer with faith and using this holy oil reverently.

In time, the long-awaited changes began to appear.

For the first time, our son was able to rise from his chair on his own.

Then he took his first independent steps.

Even today, his condition continues gradually to improve.

For our family, this became a great consolation and a strengthening of hope.
