Hope Is Stronger Than Fear

The Story of a Young Child from Gori · Gori, August 2001

When our child was only eighteen months old, the doctors gave a grave diagnosis: lymphatic leukaemia.

For our family, this became a severe trial.

In August 2001, we travelled to Samtavro Monastery, to the resting place of Saint Gabriel Urgebadze.

With fervent prayer, we asked the Lord to help our little child, took some blessed oil, and continued praying at home every day, reverently anointing the child.

In time, the child’s condition began to improve.

Today, he is healthy.

For our family, this became a great joy and a reason to thank the Lord continually for His mercy.

“The Lord does not abandon those who turn to Him in prayer with faith.”
