Surgery Was No Longer Necessary

Our thirteen-year-old son had a serious eye condition.

His sight gradually deteriorated and reached a severe degree of short-sightedness.

The doctors said that the condition was continuing to progress and recommended another complex operation, which would have been his fourth.

The child himself categorically refused surgery.

We were then advised to pray to Saint Gabriel Urgebadze.

We travelled to Samtavro Monastery, where we reverently anointed our son’s eyelids with blessed oil, and we continued doing so at home while praying to the Lord every day.

Two weeks later, the child underwent another examination.

After examining him, the doctor reported with astonishment that surgery was no longer required.

According to the specialists, the progression of the illness had stopped and the condition of the eye had improved significantly.

For our family, this became a great joy and a strengthening of faith.
