Description
A Byzantine-style cross pendant, richly decorated on both sides. The front bears ICXC NIKA, "Jesus Christ conquers"; the back carries Psalm 50 (Psalm 51 in Western Bibles) in Church Slavonic: "Have mercy on me, O God, according to Thy great mercy." This penitential psalm of King David is part of the Orthodox morning prayers.
It measures 22 x 34 mm and weighs about 10.5 g and can be worn every day on a chain or a cord. The dark patina in the recesses varies a little from piece to piece, some darker, some lighter.
Made of 925 sterling silver and blessed on particles of the relics of St George the Victorious.
