Description
Both sides of the pendant are decorated: one carries the Kazan icon of the Mother of God, the other St Nicholas the Wonderworker. The Kazan icon was found in the city of Kazan in 1579 and is one of the most venerated icons of the Mother of God; St Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra, is loved as a quick helper in need and the patron of travellers.
It measures 29 x 43 mm including the loop and weighs about 19.5 g, a substantial pendant best worn on a strong chain or cord, often on its own rather than with a cross.
Made of 925 sterling silver and blessed on particles of the relics of St George the Victorious.
