Description
The Kazan icon of the Mother of God was found in the city of Kazan in 1579 and is one of the most venerated icons of the Mother of God. It is often given to a couple on their wedding day and kept in the icon corner as a family icon.
The set was put together at the Holy Dormition Pskov-Caves monastery. It holds the icon, a box of 12 wax candles, 195 x 8 mm, with the image of the Kazan Mother of God and the words "Save and protect", a 70 x 45 mm ceramic holder and a prayer book with the Akathist to the Kazan icon.
The icon is on a wooden base, 90 x 110 mm and 20 mm thick. It comes from the monastery workshops, is blessed and supplied with a workshop certificate.
