Description
The image on this wooden icon has been deliberately aged, giving it the look of an old icon. St Gabriel (Urgebadze) is shown as in his photographs, in a black monastic mantle with his right hand raised in blessing. The icon comes with a particle of cloth blessed on the relics of St Gabriel.
St Gabriel (Urgebadze) reposed in 1995 and was canonised by the Georgian Church in 2012. His relics rest at Samtavro monastery in Mtskheta. People pray to him for health and healing, for their families and loved ones.
The icon is 145 x 100 mm and 18 mm thick and is kept in a 165 x 125 x 30 mm wooden box. It is made and blessed at Samtavro monastery, a gift for a believer and a family keepsake.
