Description
The holy prophet John the Baptist baptised the Lord Jesus Christ in the Jordan and called people to repentance. He lived in the desert in strict fasting and is honoured as a model of ascetic life; the Church keeps the feasts of his Nativity and his Beheading.
The icon measures 13 x 18 cm. Place it in a home icon corner beside the icons of Christ and the Mother of God, or give it for a baptism or a name day to someone named John. It comes in a handmade gift box.
The base is MDF with 999 silver applied by physical vapour deposition (PVD); the image follows a Byzantine original. Handmade.
